Version BYA-PURCHASE-EMPLOYMENT-v1.0

Purchase and digital-content terms

These are the terms that apply to buying the New Job & Probation Mortgage Prep Plan. The version above is recorded against every order.

1. Who you are buying from

Before You Apply is a trading name of Sarah Newbigging, a sole trader. It is not a company and has no registered office.

Seller: Sarah Newbigging trading as Before You Apply.

Correspondence address: Lytchett House, 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Poole, Dorset, BH16 6FA, United Kingdom.

Contact: hello@before-you-apply.com.

2. Exactly what you are buying

The New Job & Probation Mortgage Prep Plan is an educational preparation tool built from the answers you save in your own account. It helps you organise your own situation, your preparation actions and questions worth taking to a qualified adviser.

It is not mortgage advice, not an eligibility assessment, and not a prediction of whether any lender will accept an application. It does not match you to a lender or a product, it does not estimate how much you could borrow, and it does not predict acceptance.

It is not a document-upload service and no document is ever uploaded to it. It is not a human advice service, and buying it does not sign you up for, or automatically refer you to, a mortgage adviser.

3. Price and payment

The price is a one-off £9. There is no subscription and no automatic renewal — you are never charged again for this purchase.

Payment is handled by Stripe on its own secure hosted page. Card details are entered on Stripe's page, not on this website, and this website never sees or stores them.

4. Access period and what happens at expiry

Paid access runs for 12 months from the date of purchase.

When that period ends, the paid module closes. This does not affect your free saved preparation plan or your account, which both remain exactly as they were. Commercial and accounting records of the purchase are kept separately, for as long as the law requires, regardless of whether paid access is still open.

5. Immediate digital supply and your cancellation rights

Access begins immediately after successful payment, at your request.

Because you ask for immediate access and acknowledge the consequence, the statutory 14-day change-of-mind right for digital content is lost once supply begins. Your other statutory rights — including that the product must match its description and work as described — are unaffected.

The exact wording you are asked to agree to before paying is: "I expressly request and consent to immediate access to the New Job & Probation Mortgage Prep Plan before the end of the 14-day cancellation period. I understand that once digital supply begins, I lose my statutory right to cancel this digital-content purchase." (consent version BYA-DIGITAL-CONTENT-CONSENT-v1.0). This is recorded against your order, with the time you agreed it, so it can always be reproduced.

6. The additional 14-day BYA refund promise

14-day BYA refund promise: If you decide within 14 days of purchase that the plan isn't useful for you, contact hello@before-you-apply.com with your order details and ask for a refund. This is an additional BYA promise and does not affect your statutory rights.

This promise is always additional to, and never a replacement for, your statutory consumer rights.

7. Your statutory rights, complaints and contact

Your statutory rights as a consumer — including that digital content must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality — are unaffected by these terms.

If something is wrong, or you want to make a complaint, contact hello@before-you-apply.com with your order details. Complaints will be acknowledged and answered.

Before You Apply is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and is not a mortgage adviser, broker or lender. We provide educational preparation resources only. We do not give mortgage advice, recommend lenders or products, assess eligibility, arrange mortgages or introduce you to advisers. If you need advice about your own circumstances, contact a suitably qualified FCA-authorised mortgage adviser directly.

8. Payment provider

Payment is processed by Stripe. Stripe's own terms and privacy notice govern the handling of your card details and payment data on its hosted checkout page.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Scots law. This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law that applies where you live, or any right you have to bring proceedings in your local courts.

10. What you agree to before paying

Before paying you must separately confirm two things: "I agree to the Purchase Terms." and, separately, the immediate-supply consent quoted in section 5. Neither box is ever pre-ticked, combined with the other, or bundled with marketing consent.
