UK mortgage new-job & probation criteria tracker

A maintained snapshot of what named UK mortgage lenders publish about probation, recently starting a job, future employment and the evidence they describe. Every row links to the lender-owned source used.

22 lenders in the monitored sample · latest source check 2026-10-09

What is included

Probation wording, new or future job wording, one published evidence point, the date we checked the source and the lender-owned source URL.

How rows are selected

We include a lender only when we can verify the relevant wording on a lender-owned published source. Broker summaries, search snippets and forum posts are not used as the row source.

What this is not

It is not a lender ranking, recommendation, eligibility checker or complete market comparison. Criteria can change and an individual application depends on far more than one employment criterion.

Research boundary

This dataset records published wording. It does not say which lender is suitable, whether anyone would be accepted, or when somebody should apply. For personal mortgage advice, use a suitably qualified FCA-authorised mortgage adviser.

Current monitored sample

Rows are alphabetical. There is deliberately no score, winner, "best lender" label or inferred acceptance probability.

Published evidence point
Published evidence points include the new job offer or accepted contract; the lender may also require the first payslip before releasing funds.

Methodology

Manual verification of lender-owned published intermediary criteria. Only wording that can be tied to the cited lender source is summarised. The sample is not market-wide and is never ranked.

We summarise only the point relevant to this tracker and avoid filling gaps with assumptions. If a cited section does not publish a future-start rule, the row says that rather than inferring one.

Update and correction policy

The checked date is stored per lender. Material source changes are updated when identified, and the tracker is scheduled for a routine monthly recheck. Corrections can be reported through the contact page; our corrections policy applies.

Change log

  • 9 October 2026: monitored sample expanded from ten to 22 lenders using additional lender-owned published criteria; the consumer Changing Jobs guide remains on its original ten-row snapshot.
  • 6 October 2026: monitored sample expanded to ten directly sourced lenders and all lender rows rechecked.
